Motocom had the great honour of organising the European press launch for the all-new Suzuki GSX-R600 in December. Hiring the Almeria race circuit in Spain, arranging hotels, providing a technical and logistics team and working with Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan, the launch welcomed no-less than nine nations to the four-day event.
Managing all elements of the event, the Motocom team liaised closely with SMC engineers, european subsidiaries and press to create an event that offered maximum riding time in a relaxed environment.
Motocom’s Luke Plummer explained, “While we’ve organised many press launch events for Suzuki over the last five years, and many of those overseas, it was an honour to be asked to organise an event on this scale. Early on we made recommendations of circuits, but due to the timing it was critical to select a circuit that would give us favourable weather. The Almeria circuit offered us that potential and after working for many months in the build-up with Suzuki GB, european subsidiaries and the factory we were pleased to host a successful and dry four-day event that offered europe its first taste of the new GSX-R600.”
As well as welcoming press, the event also notably gave TT hero Guy Martin his first ever test on the Relentless Suzuki by TAS GSX-R1000 Superbike.
